Are you ready to join the programmatic evolution?

Index Exchange is looking for an HR Business Partner to support our Engineering and Product organizations. In this Toronto-based role, you will have an amazing opportunity to build within a rapidly growing technology team. You’ll be part of a driven and passionate People team who are striving to make a difference in the organization.

The HRBP will work with globally distributed employees and leaders on all elements of the employee lifecycle. From performance management, coaching and training, and employee relations to employee on-boarding and off-boarding, succession planning and talent forecasting.

What We’re Looking For:

You are someone who enjoys both the strategic build and deploy work of HR and the day-to-day tactical work that comes with a smaller more agile HR team. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with the people team to develop best practices, communicate people-first initiatives, and will work to deliver any trends analysis and optimization recommendations to our team. Possessing strong business acumen, you should align yourself as a partner to managers and as a right hand to the senior Business Partners to ensure continued employee engagement.

Here’s What You’ll be Doing:

  • Support the development and execution of the People Team Roadmap plans: You'll be instrumental in turning strategy into action, helping shape and deliver the HR initiatives that directly impact our growth and success.
  • Align with the HRBP team to support the employee lifecycle: From onboarding to off-boarding, you’ll provide comprehensive support at every stage of the employee journey. This includes performance reviews, compensation planning, talent development, training, and more, ensuring our team members have everything they need to succeed.
  • Assist managers and employees with HR needs: You’ll act as a trusted advisor, guiding leaders and employees through complex HR matters, while offering solutions and resources that empower them to navigate challenges confidently.
  • Translate policies and processes for managers and employees: As the go-to person, you’ll make sure that policies and procedures are clear and easily understood, ensuring smooth communication and compliance across teams.
  • Influence and support transformation and change management: You’ll be a driving force behind major change initiatives, helping leaders and teams adapt and thrive through periods of transformation within the business.
  • Assist with research and groundwork for projects: Whether it’s market studies or evaluating best practices, you’ll dig deep into the data to provide insights that shape the People Team’s strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the People Operations team: From onboarding to benefits management, you’ll work alongside the People Ops team to ensure all operational needs are met, providing a seamless experience for employees from day one.
  • Partner with the broader People Team to execute employee engagement programs: You'll help launch and sustain initiatives that keep our workforce engaged, motivated, and connected, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive company culture.
  • Strive for continuous improvement: You’ll always be looking for ways to improve, suggesting updates to programs and processes that will better support our teams and enhance the overall employee experience.

Here's What You Need:

  • HRBP Experience: 4-7 years of partnering with globally distributed teams and leaders to drive HR initiatives.
  • Analytical & Tactical Mindset: Ability to leverage data for informed decision-making and process optimization, while being tactical in implementing HR strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Influencing Skills: You’re a trusted advisor, skilled at building relationships and credibility quickly within the business.
  • Passion for Culture: Excited to shape an inclusive, high-performing culture by aligning people strategies with business outcomes.
  • Proactive Self-Starter: Driven and enthusiastic, you take initiative to identify issues and craft solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the bigger picture to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills that facilitate effective engagement across all levels.
  • Global Perspective: Strong knowledge of global employment laws and labor standards, particularly in Canada, USA, Germany, and India is an asset.
  • An HR designation is a plus!

Why You Should Be Excited:

  • Impact: Your work will directly influence the success of our teams and the business as we continue to grow globally.
  • Growth Opportunities: With exposure to global HR practices and business operations, you’ll have ample opportunities for career development and growth.
  • Collaboration: You’ll work with a passionate, high-energy team that values creativity, partnership, and pushing boundaries.
